Office Administrator

The South Shore Hospice Palliative Care Society has a vision for quality
and compassionate end of life care for residents of Lunenburg and Queens
counties.  We are a non-profit organization that is supported by the
generosity of our community.

Position Overview
The Office Administrator position is integral to the day-to-day function
of the office and is the first point of contact for the Society.  As
such, the administrator must embody empathy and efficiency in a
pleasant, respectful, and helpful manner; acting in the best interest of
the Society.  As Office Administrator, you will work independently in
our Bridgewater office, interacting with the public, Board members and
volunteers.  The position reports directly to the Board Chair and works
closely with the Treasurer.

Duties & Responsibilities
Greeting donors, accepting, and processing donations, managing incoming
and outgoing correspondence
Answering phone calls, emails, and written correspondence in a timely
manner
Finance related duties, including, but not limited to: preparing and
making bank deposits, entering deposits and payments into Quickbooks
Online
Maintain up to date information on contacts and accounts, including
office filing and related databases
Support fundraising events; development and maintenance of forms and
promotional materials
Maintain office and other supplies, as needed
Ensure the office is organized, neat and presentable for public and
Society meetings
Process and record Income Tax and business receipts
Support and assist Board members and Volunteers, as required
Schedule office space for small committee work
Assist Volunteer Coordinator with scheduling volunteers and gathering
volunteer information
Other duties as assigned and as needs arise

Qualifications
Graduate of an office assistant administration program or equivalent
experience.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Proficiency in database management, fund raising software and a variety
of on-line communication platforms such as Zoom, Facebook, Instagram and
websites
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and
relationships with others
Familiarity with programs such as Quickbooks Online, Square and Canada
Helps

Job Details
Hours:  30 hours per week (Monday to Friday office hours of 10:00am to
4:00pm) with 5 additional hours as required.
Salary:  $25/26 per hour
**A Criminal Records Check is a requirement within 30 days of the start
date**
