Financial Assistance

The South Shore Hospice Palliative Care Society has two financial assistance programs to support patients and their families who are living with, or who have lived with, life-limiting illness. Beacon of Hope is dedicated to supporting individuals and their families who wish to spend their final days in the comfort of their own homes, while the Solace Fund can provide grief support for those who have experienced significant loss.

Recognizing the emotional and financial challenges that accompany end-of-life care, our financial assistance programs provide essential resources and support for those who qualify. By alleviating some of the financial burdens, we empower families to focus on what truly matters—cherishing precious moments and creating lasting memories with their loved ones.

Facing and navigating a life-limiting illness can be an emotional and financial challenge. Additional financial pressures for medical costs or equipment to maintain comfort and quality of life can cause unneeded stress for those who choose end-of-life at home.

Through donations, the Beacon of Hope program improves quality of life for hospice palliative care patients and their families within the South Shore Palliative Care Service by providing temporary financial assistance.

  • Nursing Care
  • Emergency supplies
  • Medication
  • Medical supplies (personal care, oxygen, ostomy, etc)
  • Transportation (taxis, bus, parking, courier)
  • Travel (gas, accommodation, parking, food)
