Volunteering

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of others and enhancing hospice and palliative care on the South Shore? Consider volunteering with the South Shore Hospice Palliative Care Society! We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities to match your interests and availability.

General Volunteering Opportunities

General volunteers can help in a variety of ways including:

  • Board of Directors
  • Committee Members
  • Event Volunteers
  • Special Opportunities

Our general volunteers enjoy flexible commitment requirements while giving back to their community. To apply or learn more about these opportunities, visit our General Volunteer Page.

Volunteer Visitation Program (VVP)

Our Volunteer Visitors are at the heart of our visitation program. They offer compassionate connections and meaningful moments to clients and families who are receiving palliative treatment. These dedicated volunteers undergo specialized training, commit to regular home visits within the community, and participate in monthly support meetings to ensure they deliver the highest level of companionship during this difficult time.

To apply or learn more about becoming a Volunteer Visitor, please see the program page or contact our Volunteer Visitation Coordinator:
